With our mixed student population of over 850, the academic life of our learners starts from Pre-School to Junior High School, hence why the age range of our learners is between 1 1⁄2 to 16 years old. Our student’s population is made up of many nationalities from countries such as Canada, the USA, Nigeria, Togo, Germany, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, and The United Kingdom.

Our low student-to-teacher-per-class ratio philosophy, allows us to provide the required tailored attention to each pupil. We have a class size policy that ensures no more than 23 learners per class.

Secondly, we have recognised that it takes much more to raise a child than ever before given the rapid change of technology or the use of the internet and for that matter social media and smartphones today. Therefore our
principle is that our child-centred approach is the best way to help them to learn. In effect, our teachers/facilitators assume a multi-faceted role of not just teaching them in class, but also as their counsellor and parent when in school.

Rockies International School uses the Common Core Curriculum which has been approved by Ghana Education Service (G.E.S.) and we strive to make sure that there is an emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving. Since we have a global perspective on education, the school has infused some aspects of the American and British curriculum to make teaching and learning more rigorous and challenging.
